There are a number of marketing qualifications available in the UK, most of which are also accepted across Europe. The courses with the highest recognition among employers are those from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) which offers qualifications at the certificate, advanced certificate and diploma level; the CAM (Communications, Advertising and Marketing) Foundation and various Masters courses in the form of MAs, MScs or marketing-focused MBA courses.

In addition to these are courses both in general marketing and in related specialisms such as PR, direct marketing, and market research. A number of under-graduate courses also offer degrees with marketing heavy content. The main related courses are the Institute of Direct Marketing Diploma, and the Market Research Society (MRS) certificate and diploma.

While information on the top MBA schools and courses is fairly easy to find, details and rankings on marketing masters courses has been more difficult. Our research (among recruiters, graduates and other universtities) indicates that the most well regarded courses in the UK are those offered by Kingston, Strathclyde, Lancaster and West of England Universtites. The Chartered Institute of Marketing qualifications are well recognised in the UK and internationally, especially Europe and South East Asia.
